HOW TO DONATE MARINE ART OR COLLECTIBLES TO A MAINE NON PROFIT
If the thought of selling your marine art collection is too much, why not donate for the benefit of youth education at sea?
At Sailing Ships Maine your marine art and antiques will support our nationwide, non-profit youth education-at-sea programs. The process couldn’t be simpler. We take some basic information, walk you through the next steps and answer any questions you may have. To get started, just provide the quick info below, send us some pictures, and we will tell you how your donation will help support our youth education programs!
All donations are tax deductible. You can donate your art or collectibles to Sailing Ships Maine, a 501c3 in Maine. It doesn’t matter where you are located. Donating art to us ensures that the next generation of teenagers can learn how to share in the incredible experiences that you have had on the water. We take paintings, sculpture, prints, drawings, historical documents, valuable books, antiques, and all things marine. (We may also take non-marine works if they come with marine related items.)
Donations support scholarships for Sailing Ship Maine’s non profit mission: providing life-changing opportunities for teens of all abilities and income levels to discover the ocean environment and expand leadership skills while encouraging them to consider further maritime training!
We welcome donation of art at any level, including those valued less than $1,000. Even during the pandemic, resale of donated items has raised over $50,000 annually in scholarship funds. Donations provide scholarship funding for students to experience life at sea.
We take care of the donation details quickly so you can clear space and move on with your life. We will work with you to facilitate tax deductions.
Call us and we can give you a quick explanation of how this works in your best interest--while helping to send kids to sea for the life-changing experience of week-long sailing adventures.
We can pick it up or you can drop it off at our office at 2015 Congress Street, Portland . Leave a voicemail at 207-450-5363 or email us at info@sailingshipsmaine.org to schedule a time.
