SEA SCOUTS IN MAINE

Sailing Ships Maine is a chartered organization for Sea Scouts in Maine. Girls and boys ages 11 to 20 and adults who are interested in teaching are invited to join our scout ship. For more information, email us at info@sailingshipsmaine.org

The mission is to provide year-round sailing-related educational opportunities and to put young people on a path to becoming Quartermasters, the Sea Scouts' highest rank, akin to Eagle Scout. We are happy to partner with groups to develop great programs in support of great Sea Scout ships.

And we welcome Sea Scout ships from anywhere in the world to come to Maine to experience nautical programs along the Maine Coast and across the Gulf of Maine.

Career Development - Scouts may develop a portfolio of skills which will be of great career value no matter what their chosen field. Participation in scouting programs can provide sea time toward USCG licenses for scouts 16 and up.

Sea Scout Program Options:

  • Sail Training on Tall Ships – scouts can participate in our accredited Tall Ship sailing adventures aboard Schooner Sara Jane and Sloop Brightside
