PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Sailing Ships Maine has an experiential learning at sea program for you…
Sailing Ships Maine creates life-changing opportunities for teens of all abilities and income levels to discover the ocean environment, to expand leaderships skills, and to consider maritime careers.
“This is something that I will take with me for the rest of my life.
-Feleesha J. (Summer ‘20)”
Our 2025 summer sailing program for youth is well underway! The ships begin and end their trips in Casco or Penobscot Bays, sailing all over the wild and scenic waters of the coast of Maine providing our accredited nautical studies programs.
Sailing Ships Maine organizes educational programs and sailing experiences for groups of students. We work with schools, organization, and clubs. Please reach out to us if you would like to develop a program for your group. info@sailingshipsmaine.org to schedule a time for a discussion. There is still plenty of time to change your students lives.

Official Sea Time
NOTE: For those looking to earn sea time toward their first U.S. Coast Guard license, please note that the USCG will recognize time spent at sea as “official sea time” for those who are 16 year old and above. Before the sail trainees’ 16th birthday, their sea time gained is considered a valuable experience and yet does not count toward official sea time.
