LETTIE G. HOWARD

The schooner Lettie G. Howard is a Coast Guard-certified Sailing School Vessel and National Historic Landmark owned and operated by the South Street Seaport Museum in New York City. Fully restored and outfitted with modern safety and navigational equipment, Lettie offers sail training and sea education programs for youth and adults.

It's rare to look this good when you reach 124 years of age, and yet Lettie is still as strong as ever as she sails the East Coast as one of the premiere sailing school vessels in the U.S. fleet. Take a moment and see why so many teens are experiencing life-changing adventures aboard this beautiful, historic schooner.

In August 2017, Tall Ships Portland and South Street Seaport Museum teamed up to offer Maine teens two different voyages. The first voyage from Narragansett Bay,  to Portland, Maine.  The second voyage began and ended in Portland- voyaging up the Maine coast and exploring the waters and coves of Penobscot Bay, and beyond.
