Actress was designed in 1937 by Murray Peterson. Scott Kennedy bought the plans from Murray and started building her in 1965 and launched her in 1983 as Oliver C Weyant.
New owner and skipper Hans Vierthaler changed the name to Actress based on the Howard Chapelle book on the Gloucester Fishing schooner, Actress built in Boston by Lawler in the 1880's.
